Picasso Portraits

Our Picasso style portraits are coming along well.

Milk

Today was our first day having milk to drink. Luke and Hannah showed us how to drink it dry and pack it flat.

Making pasta sauce

We helped Emma picked tomatoes, capsicum and basil.

There were lots and lots of cherry tomatoes!

We helped Emma wash the tomatoes and basil.

Next we blended them in the blender. It made a huge noise.

We put pasta in a cup.

Emma put some pasta sauce on top of our pasta

We ate it all. It was very yummy.

Our favourite colours

We have found other people who like the same colour. Our group likes red.

We are learning to read silently by ourselves.

2016 - Getting to know each other

Welcome to the first post of 2016. 
Getting to know each other and working together is really important in these first few days.

The Santa Claus game

We made our own Santa Claus  board games to play with a buddy or play in the holidays. 

Hour of Code

All the Bachelors took part in the Hour of Code today. We found a buddy and worked through the Minecraft puzzles. Some of us got as far as Puzzle 10. Lots of collaborating and problem solving. Try it at home - code.org 

Our Plays

Today we presented our plays to the class. We had practised heaps and some of us made masks. The performers all spoke up in loud voices. The audience was very patient. We enjoyed them all.

Hand and foot art

Today we made Christmas art. First we dipped our feet in some green paint for the sleigh and it felt weird. Then we dipped our hands in brown paint for the reindeer. We waited for it to dry then drew Santa and finished the reindeer with felt pen. It was quite tricky getting everything the right way around.

Swimming

We like our new changing rooms and our new pool has really warm water.

Our Veggie Garden

Look at how much our plants have grown. All the rain and sun has made them grow.

These are some of the signs of plants we made for our garden. We got a shape and we drew around it

and cut around it then we got a felt pen and drew the plant.

Book fair

This week Mrs. Thomas has set up a book fair for the school. There are Star Wars books, Minecraft books, Christmas books and lots more, We had to fill in a wish list. After school we can go to the book fair.

Milk cartons

Today we started having milk cartons . We learned to put our thumb on the top of the straw plastic and push the straw out. Then we drank it dry, fold it flat and send it back.For most people thought it was yummy but other people thought it was yuck.

Halloween

On the 6th of November we had a parade and a Halloween disco. I was dressed up as  a princess from Disney princesses. My princess is kind and doesn't give up. It is princess Onna. Her dress colour is dark blue. 

Fire safety

On Wednesday a fire truck came. They let us go into the fire truck to see the drivers seat. I saw a map to. It showed Auckland. The map is very important because they need to now where to go. There were two maps, one inside the other one was outside. They came from Birkenhead fire station, Birkenhead fire station had 3 fire trucks.

On the 28th of October we drew a map of the class room,and we had to make a group of two and three. Our class room is a rectangle.

Tamati and Sam

We read the story called Sam and Tamati Get Firewise. If there is a fire call 111 then the fireman will come.
