Where do you live?

This morning we worked in pairs and discussed similarities and differences in our houses. We used venn diagrams to show this information.

Tristan and Sean found they had lots of things the same.

Maths in Space 10

Our first Maths topic for the year is Statistics. We are learning to gather data and record it in different ways and then think, talk and write about the information.
Here is our birthday bar graph. November has the most birthdays.
Emi was the only one in her group.
This is the 4 letter group.
Our next activity was to count the letters in our names. We had to sort ourselves into groups of the same numbers of letters.

Here we all are with our names.

Our first blog post for 2012.

Look at us - we're big Bachelor children now. Here we are after 10 minutes in our new classroom - Space 10. Mrs Le Sueur is our Home Room teacher.

We soon got down to work. Here we are writing our first story for the year.
We wrote about our summer holiday.

Wheels Day at School

On our last day of Outdoor Education we all brought our favourite wheels to school. Constable Harwood came and talked to us being safe on our bikes and scooters.

Then the boys had a turn!
Some of us brought roller blades.

Biking on the field was tiring!

Picnic Day at Onepoto Domain

One hot, sunny day the Undergrads and the Bachelors went on 3 buses down Onewa Rd to Onepoto Domain for a day of fun!
Hold on tight to the small parachute!

We were in teams and rotated around some fun activities. Even the parents joined in and had fun too!

Outdoor Education Week

Monday was Tent Day. All the Undergrads and Bachelors had fun in and around their tents.

We also had Mr and Mrs Bird bring an ambulance to show us how paramedics look after us if we have an accident and have to go to hospital. Charlotte is lucky having parents who do such an important job. Thank you for coming and showing us what you do. Lots of us want to be paramedics when we grow up!
Mrs Bird bandaged legs
Mr Bird tied arms in slings

Tom had his head bandaged.
We got to see inside the ambulance.

Fancy Feet at Chelsea School

Sam & Emelia's fancy feet.
Yesterday was Fancy Feet Day because we were becoming a Travel Wise school. Lots of people had crazy feet, even the teachers. We had special guests who signed the Travel Wise certificate.
Maxx the pukeko and Mr Coleman helped judge the best Fancy Feet in each year group.
