Ping Pong Competition



Congratulations to the Year 2 Ping Pong Competition winner - Joy Yan.

Joy made it through to the finals and won against Gary Fan. It was a close game! The other finalists to play off on Friday lunchtime were - Elizabeth, Rajiv, Leon, KiYong, Robert, Jacob and Josh. Well done everyone on your skillful play and good sportsmanship! Keep practising!

We couldn't have asked for more perfect timing for our latest C.O.T. topic. We have been following the happenings of the latest superstorm to hit New York. Our TVs have given us wonderful videos and the latest news. Children today are so lucky!

Gone are the days of showing them newspaper pictures - now they can watch and discuss and interpret what is happening in real time. 
Below is our latest brainstorm where we are thinking about after the storm - who are the people who will help and what will have to be done to clean up and try to get the homes back to before the disaster.

We have been practising interviewing each other with the video camera. We have then uploaded our video interviews to our class glog. We think we are getting better at talking in front of a camera. What do you think?

Our Holiday Highlights

End of Term Assemblies

This afternoon we all said goodbye to Mrs Lydford King. She has been teaching at Chelsea for 23 years and today was her last day with us. We made her a fabulous card with lots of dress designs. 

Yesterday the Bachelors had their end of term assembly. We invited all our parents and we shared lots of the learning we had done throughout the term. We read some stories, showed our houses and sang songs. Thank you to all the parents who came along.

Cross Country Winners

At assembly today our Cross Country winners were presented with their certificates. Congratulations to Luke and Keira - first; Leon(absent) and Hollie - second; and Tzion and Celia - third.

The Great House Building Challenge!

What a fabulous fun day we have all had! We spent the whole morning constructing a house that we had designed ourselves. They aren't finished yet. Thank goodness for hot glue guns! They solved many joining problems...and we didn't burn our fingers!
